Dear Government

I used to believe that to be part of the government you had to be smart, compassionate and honest. Boy was I wrong! What happened to the American dream? How are we supposed to get ahead when prices of everything keep going up? Like houses, cars, insurance, groceries, clothing, amusement parks and more, I mean everything! And minimum wage stayed the same forever. It’s starting to go up now but it still takes two or three families living together to make ends meet. De-regulation was the worst thing our government could have done. It all has to do with ass-kissing and greed.

You know that saying, “What would Jesus do?” well some people don’t believe in Jesus. But everyone knows about love. Or at least they should. My new thought is, “What would un-conditional love do?” If our government would think like that they wouldn’t do most of the things they do, like lie to us. When they say there will be no new taxes, read my lips, then they turn around and raise taxes anyway, that is a deliberate lie. While campaigning they will say whatever it takes to win. What do you think George Washington or Abraham Lincoln would say about the government of today? If you ask me they would be appalled. These politicians are only concerned about lining their own pockets and the pockets of the people that are already rich. How much money do they need? I’m not saying that it is a bad thing to be rich, just that it is a bad thing to be so greedy that you stop caring about the welfare of the people as a whole.

You know it is not only the government that has faltered. What about, “We the People”? Have we been too trusting? Don’t you think it’s time that we took back what is rightfully ours? This is our country as a whole. We have the right to live the American dream. So what do we do? We need to pay closer attention to what is going on. Stop voting for the Democrats and the Republicans and look to the independents like Ross Perro. He was a business man, a billionaire, who wanted to turn this country around. He already had his own money so he was not looking for people to contribute to his campaign. He was legit. I voted for him because I believed that he could actually change things for the better. I’m not even sure our votes count anymore. I truly believe that the votes are rigged and that we have no say in what is happening in our country. When a government can keep things from us like who killed John F. Kennedy or what goes on in area 51; then we are doomed. Why are we not fighting harder to take back our dreams? I’ll tell you why. Because whenever someone tries to change things for the better they end up at the other end of a bullet! The people in power think nothing of offing someone that interferes with their sinister plans.

It just makes me so sad to think of how wonderful life could be for all of us if our government was more fair and cared about our people more. Look at all the homeless we have in the richest country in the world, America. There are so many abandoned buildings that could be put to good use. There is a whole slew of military barracks that are just sitting empty, rotting in the sun, when they could shelter so many people. Remember the hippie communes? These people cared and shared with each other. They grew their own food and everyone had a purpose. They kept it simple and life seemed so wonderful, that is of course until the government interfered and deemed them as bad lazy people. But in actuality they were free and harmonious people with so much to offer the world. They were creative people with an awesome purpose. And that was to show the world that war was not necessary and that when we come together as a community we can accomplish anything.

Sometimes we need to start from scratch, and I believe that this is one of those times. I know I am just one person but that’s all it takes to get the ball rolling. If each and every one of us would just do one thing differently to help our world just think how amazing that would be. This is the start of my contribution and I will be doing more. Please think about your contribution and give it a shot. But remember to do it out of love. WWULD, what would un-conditional love do?

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog. I hope it has sparked something in you to take action and to live a happier, healthier, richer and more fulfilling life.

With all my Love, Deb Mertan
