Was it Unfortunate?

Have you ever had something happen that seemed to be bad, but later realized that it was exactly the thing that had to happen or at least it was not as unfortunate as you thought? When something happens that doesn’t please you, stop and think about how it might help you in some way. Instead of thinking it’s unfortunate to lose your job and become a stay at home dad, think about how fortunate it is that you get to spend time with your kids. After all they will only be little for a short time. They grow so fast and you can’t get those years back. And by spending quality time with them while they’re young you may have really great relationships with them as adults. You know, everything is temporary anyway.

And instead of saying you can’t win them all, try saying you can win them all. Give yourself permission to believe that anything is possible and it will be. You know what Henry Ford said, “ Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right”. And that’s when you’ll know that you are the creator of your own life. And knowing is the greatest feeling in the world. Or maybe even the Universe. Knowing that you can and deserve to be, do or have anything you desire is the ultimate goal.

So much would change in your life if you could just give it a new meaning, whatever IT is. Everytime you change something from a can’t do to a can do you impress upon your subconscious mind that anything is possible. Now, it does take practice, and you have to pay attention if you truly want to be a happy person. And believe me, being happy is the only way to fly. And who doesn’t want to fly?And being happy is what we all want anything for anyway, right? But the trick is to be happy first and things will just work out for you.

Here’s a trick for staying happy as much as possible. Think and talk and day dream about things that you are wanting. Make sure they are things that please you and never put the, “but I don’t want blah blah” in the equation. If you do start to go down that path, pay attention, as I mentioned earlier, and be gentle with yourself, and change the thought to something that does please you.

Have you ever had to distract someone, like a child that wants something you don’t want them to have? You kindly point them in another direction, right? Yes, and that’s what you can do with negative thoughts and emotions. Change direction to something you like. If you keep paying attention and redirecting, you will eventually get so good at it that you will rarely go down that rabbit hole, so to speak. You know you can do this for free and it will bring you great riches anyway. You don’t have to spend money to make money or be a college graduate to generate wealth. You just have to believe and then know that you are, as we all are, a deserving human. And that is because you are a spiritual being having a human experience. And spirit is energy. And energy can’t be created or destroyed, it just is.

Have you ever heard the saying, “It was a blessing in disguise”? Well most things are. You have to look for the silver lining in every situation. When we are prepared to notice the good in everything, the good will show itself to us. Expect that everything is working out to our advantage. I know it may not seem like it, but give it a shot next time something seems to be going wrong, and see if you can find the silver lining. When you are purposely looking for the good, you will surely find it.

Now is as good a time as any to start being a happy person. Be loving and kind to yourself and life will unfold in miraculous ways. We all deserve to enjoy life in any way that pleases us. So go out there and show the world that you love yourself and everyone and everything as well. And remember there is always great love for you here.

Very truly yours,

Deb Mertan
